Reinhardt Swing Band

The Reinhardt Swing Band is more than entertainment, it’s an event! With four pieces – violin, two guitars, and the ubiquitous stand up bass, the band blends and follows the lead of the legendary Stephane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt from the thirties and forties. Join the fun and you will be tapping your toes to one of the Bay Areas’ most enjoyable musical experiences. “It don’t mean a thing if you don’t got that swing.”

March 6
John Kalleen Group

The John Kalleen Group is a hot version of “Summertime,” a cool version of “Footsteps” and beautifully crafted originals! The JKG is a jazz quartet in the classic style, offering fresh compositions, echoing the admired hard bop and post-bop eras of the 50s and 60s, but infused with a modern, dynamic spark. And of course, they deliver swinging, spirited arrangements of the classics from those eras. An evening with the John Kalleen Group is a night of excellent musicianship, up-tempo energy and killer jazz with an incentive drive.

March 13
The Turnaround Jazz Quartet

The Turnaround is an East Bay-based jazz ensemble performing original and classic straight-ahead, bossa nova, Latin music, ballads and blues. The band features talented vocalist and composer Raquel Berlind, Mark “Heshima” Williams on upright bass, Robert Crawford on piano and bandleader and composer Alexey Berlind on the drums, and has played at venues such as San Francisco City Hall, the Westin St. Francis, the Trocadero Clubhouse at Stern Grove, the California Academy of Sciences, the Henry Miller Library in Big Sur, to name a few. The members of the band have performed at jazz festivals, concert halls and cruise ships worldwide, and combine their unique talents to create a swinging, harmonious ensemble that has delighted audiences since 2007.
